See Calendar Girls in London this June
The hugely successful Calendar Girls is making its way to London for a series of performances at the Network Theatre.
Based on the 2003 film of the same name, the heart-warming stage adaptation has witnessed a host of famous faces bearing all over recent years.
Visitors staying at luxury suites in London can book tickets to see the evening performances at the Network theatre between March 25th and 15th.
Since its debut at the Chichester Festival back in 2009, the play has enjoyed lengthy national and international tours, with stars such as Lynda Bellingham, Gaynor Faye and Patricia Hodge gracing the cast list over the years.
Based on a true story, Calendar Girls has since gone on to be the fastest selling play in British theatre history.
Centred around the humorous and emotional tale of Annie after the death of her husband, the play follows the ongoing dramas of her and 11 members of the Women's Institute who daringly decide to pose nude for a calendar to raise funds.
However, after news of the charitable venture goes national, the strain of the media attention soon threatens Annie and her best friend Chris' relationship.
The Mail on Sunday described the show as "marvellous theatre", which will guarantee to make you "laugh, cry and come out singing Jerusalem".
While Lloyd Evans, critic at the Spectator, said the critically-acclaimed British stage show delivered unbeatable comedy and pathos, as well as being "dazzlingly funny, shamelessy sentimental and utterly captivating".
The Network Theatre hosts a number of in-house productions every year and is described as a "hidden gem" on its website.
Tucked underneath Waterloo Station, keen theatregoers can easily make their way to the venue on public transport.
Tourists hoping to grab tickets to see the performance should waste no time to avoid disappointment.
